Year 3/4 children have been learning about Hull’s fishing heritage. The children learned lots of interesting facts in a relatively short space of time. To enhance their learning, Vic and Ron visited Paisley to give a talk and to answer topic-related questions posed by the children to deepen their knowledge about the fishing industry and the work of trawlermen and their families. The school received feedback and this is what the gentlemen had to say in an email:

It was a pleasure for Vic and I. The children raised a number of pertinent questions for such a young age. It is satisfying to us that staff like yourselves at Paisley are helping youngsters learn about their community heritage.

The children also visited Carnegie Heritage Learning where they consolidated their learning and heard further information from Ken Knox, a local authority on Hull’s fishing industry.
