As we start this new academic year, just a reminder that every child should have a P.E. kit in school, consisting of a plain, white T-shirt and black or navy shorts. Indoor shoes are also needed for every child to change into, so that feet are comfortable, cosy and safe and so that our school
Our school provides a daily healthy school meal and there are a variety of choices, including deli and sandwich options, for the children to choose from every day, as you will see from the menu being sent home this week. Meals are free-or-charge for Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 children. Meals are only 50p
On 2nd July all the children, staff and volunteers from the Foundation Stage set off to Bridlington for the day. Thankfully, the weather was sunny, but not too hot. The children spent the full day playing on the beach. They all received a bucket and spade as a present from the school at the end

Our overall school attendance target for last year was 95%, which we achieved. We are, of course, determined to maintain and improve on this figure this academic year. As well as good attendance, we are keen to improve punctuality, as we do have some families still struggling to get their children to school on time.
We had very successful sports days this year – four in total. Luckily, the weather was kind to us and none of the planned days had to be postponed. Thank you, everyone, for co-operating with our requests and staying behind the tape and respecting the athletes. It was very much appreciated.
On 22nd June, our Foundation Stage held a, ‘Dads Day’, which was very well-attended. Activities were based around this term’s Pirate Topic and included Cutlass making and face-painting. On 1st – 3rd May, our Year 6 children visited Dobroyd Castle in Todmorden, (Robinwood), for our annual Year 6 Residential. They had the opportunity to experience a variety of outdoor and indoor adventure activities. Children also developed their teamwork, self-esteem and confidence along the way.
